The JOAD Symposium a huge hit!

1. 3 G JOAD
2. American Archery Academy
3. Archery Headquarter Academy
4. Arizona Archery Club
5. Corner Kidz AZ
6. Desert Destroyers
7. Desert Sky Archers
8. Papago Archery
9. Paseo Vista
10. Phantom Archery
11. New River Archery Club
The highlight of the day long symposium was a coaching and archer support talk by multi World championship and Olympic medalist Rick McKinney who spoke about what it takes to reach the top and how coaches and family can be supportive, based on personal experiences.
Mike Cullumber, USA Archery Board member and USA Archery Arizona President reported on the state of state and national efforts and plans for the over 22 thousand members of USA Archery. Mike also presented the importance of running a sustainable program. Judge Bob Pian presented rules that archers and coaches should know. Coach and club leader, Rick Bachman discussed the archer, family and coach relationship. USA Archery scoring team, Steve Yee presented tourney hosting topics with an emphasis on planning. Mike had a nice closing video presentation about keeping it fun for the kids.
Special thanks to USA Archery Arizona Co State JOAD Coordinators, Jackie Levario and Krista Colonna who facilitated the symposium including arranging for program, presenters, snacks and lunch.
“Being able to fund symposiums like this is one of the many reasons USA Archery Arizona host the Arizona Cup as the state’s primary fund raiser” Planning is in the works for a follow up symposium.
