Hard to believe, but fall is just around the corner and it is time for our Second Annual Arizona Coaches‘ Symposium.
USA Archery Arizona and Arizona JOAD would like to extend an invitation to all USA Archery Coaches (Levels 1 – 5) to register for a day of networking and continuing education.
Date – October 1, 2017 – 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location – SSC Boring , 1951 W North Ln, Phoenix, AZ 85021
Cost – $30 per Coach (to help cover costs for the facility, lunch, and speakers)
Registration Deadline is September 24, 2017.
We will be capping registration at 50 Participants.

This year one of Arizona’s well know archery coaches has made the Semi-finals of the USA Archery Coach of the Year. Congratulations Steve Yee.
Voting can be done by any USA Archery Member. Meaning every official Member in your family is eligible to vote, so the kids under 18 years of age are eligible to vote. Keep in mind, you will need to know you USA Archery ID number to start the voting survey.

Desert Sky Archers JOAD and Ben Avery have worked together to offer some FREE archery clinics for beginner archers. Below is the information from their website.

“…… Hello! It is wonderful you have an interest in Archery! Desert Sky Archers is putting on these free archery clinics for Ben Avery Shooting Facility and Arizona Game and Fish!
The clinic is 1.5 hours long. During that time you will be taught how to shoot a bow properly. You will learn Range Safety, be taught drills to improve your skill.
We will supply the bows and arrows. We ask you come in close toed shoes. If you have long hair/bangs, please tie it back. Shirts to be at least short sleeve, no straps or muscle shirts.
Dates for 2017 to be as follows:
April 15th Full
May 6th 8AM Full
June 10th 8AM start time
August 5th 8AM start time
September 9th 12:00PM start time
October 7 8AM start time
November 11 12:00PM start time
December 2 8AM start time
You must be present at the start time to participate in the class. When you register you will receive a notification and a couple days before the class a map to the indoor range.
You can bring your own equipment if you wish, we will inspect it for safety. If you are bringing your own compound bow, it must be 60 pounds or less draw weight. For range safety, minimum age is 7 years old. Must be able to draw back a 10lb bow.
Class size is limited to 20 archers.
USA Archery is holding the annual Coaching Symposium at Salt Lake City, Jan 20 -22.

Solutions in Archery will be conducting a Level 3-NTS Coach Course on November 18, 19 & 20 in Chandler, AZ. This class fills up fast, as they only have limited space. More information can be found on the Solutions in Archery website.

Solutions in Archery is holding a Level 3 Coach Certification Course on June 3 – 5, 2016.
Mike Cullumber will be teaching the Level 3 – NTS Certification Course in Chandler, AZ. Information on the class can be found at www.solutionsinarchery.com . Potential coaches must have been a Level 2 Instructor for at least 1 year prior to the start of the class. If you have instructors that might be interested, please let them know.
